Ready for your next challenge?

So I’m here.
Teaching online. Live.
6 days a week.
To remind you to challenge yourself.

When the mind wanders, in your practice. In your pose.
Start checking in with the body.

What happens if I push more with this muscle? Or pull more with this muscle?

The 7am Revolution: How One Member Broke Free from the Desk-Bound Life

“I try to do 45 minutes a day in total. I feel so much better. The new routine is boosting my energy levels, even on those days when I wake up feeling tired. It's improving my posture.

I don't feel stiff any more, even on those days when I spend a lot of time sitting at my desk.

Most and foremost, I feel like this is a long term routine, more than a workout programme that I'm likely to quit at some point. This is Strength for life, indeed!”

That was 2024!

1,398 hours of yoga classes, workshops, retreats and festivals!

But it’s all of you that make all of this even possible and I feel incredibly grateful and really lucky that I get to do what I do.

The meaningful conversations that happen before and after classes or workshops are the real highlights for me. The new people we meet along the way and the fabulous friendships that have blossomed!

Reset and rebalance in January 2025

Start the new year with the opportunity to reconnect with your body.

Our body speaks to us all the time but with busy lives we don’t always listen.

We’re not always in tune or even in sync with our bodies.

Stress and worries of the mind, certainly show up in the body too. Certain times of the year don’t always help either.

Whether we hold tension in our muscles, like our back, shoulders and hips; or it just shows up in our work or daily tasks with an inability to focus on the task in hand; we need the tools to learn new habits or even unlearn old, bad habits.

Yoga in Hawarden: Hip-opening focus

Join us for a two hour yoga workshop to explore opening the hips. This can be really helpful to learn which hip, glute and leg muscles to strengthen and stretch, to help reduce lower back or sciatica pain.

In a similar style to the regular Tuesday morning yoga class that takes place at Gladstone's Library, we will have a little longer to really deep dive and explore more about the hips, glutes and hamstrings and how little tweaks to your body and everyday movement can help relieve tired, tense muscles.

We'll move through some standing, balancing and seated postures, including a lovely relaxation at the end too.

Suitable for all ages and levels, including beginners who are curious about how yoga may help. It's also suitable to pregnant women looking to relieve tension and pressure.

Meet Jenny, one of our Strength for Life Members

Meet Jenny, one of our members…”I’ve suffered with a bad lower back for years, and Emma's online classes have been helping me to strengthen my core to take some of the pressure off. For the first time in years, I don't wake up with lower back ache first thing in the morning (largely also helped by Emma's advice to change the position I sleep in) and I now have tools to relieve pain when it's particularly bad.”

Is online yoga dead?

I do think there’s a lot to be said about the beauty of learning online and practising yoga online. You can shout, swear even or make bodily noises for example, which you might not otherwise get away with in a physical class or learning scenario! Well, I can’t obviously, if I’m the one teaching! I think you’d notice but for everyone else joining in the class, you’re on mute! You can even have your dinner cooking in the oven, ready to go the minute you finish savasana!
