Introducing Dawn, an Online Member

Hi, I'm Dawn. I am over 50 (much nearer 60!) and I live with Adrian and Alfie, the yoga cat!

When did you start your yoga journey and how often do you practice yoga?

I started yoga in my 20’s when I lived alone and couldn’t touch my feet as I was so inflexible. I started in Glasgow with a new yoga teacher who was also just starting out – Michelle.

What's your favourite online class, etc. and why?

Saturday morning is my favourite online class. I love the strong flow and it’s a great way to start the weekend.  When choosing classes from the online library these are the ones I go for.

Why these classes help you

These classes help life in general – I feel so much better after a class even if I have to drag myself to do it.  I also enjoy the online “live” classes as you know you are not the only one doing it.  In the summer being able to do it outside or with the doors open just makes you feel so much better.

They also help me enjoy holidays and sport (curling and golf).

What's your least favourite yoga pose/core drill and why?

Pigeon is my least favourite yoga pose – dodgy knees and hips that don’t want to open. So I do the seated version instead.

Yoga Goals / Plans for the future - in general

My plan is just to keep going even when life is busy and gets in the way.

Last meal on death row? / Your fav meal basically!

Chicken ceasar salad.

Further thoughts:

I love taking the Good Food Yogi on holiday with me – library classes are great for this. So far this year you [via Zoom] have been to Spain and Austria. Next month will be Switzerland and hopefully there will be many more places. (Last year you went to the US, South Africa, Portugal and Turkey). It’s like going on holiday with a friend when you find somewhere new to do yoga and Emma is with you!
