Meet Daniela, one of our Online Members

Hi I’m Daniela, I’m 41 (42 in August!). I live in Hawarden with my husband and my 2 children (aged 11 and 7).

When did you start your yoga journey and how often do you practice yoga

My yoga journey started during the pandemic with tutorials on Youtube, then I attended in-person (Iyengar) classes in Hereford where I used to live. When I moved to Hawarden I started Emma’s in-person workshops and then joined her classes in Chester. I joined the membership two years ago (I think?)

What's your favourite online class, etc. and why?

7 am :-) Perfect time, perfect length, perfect combo of work on strength and flexibility.

Also I love all the technique classes - I prefer focusing on fewer poses rather than flows.

Core classes - short and effective, they make a "must-do" thing strangely enjoyable =D

Why these classes help you

They help with posture, especially when I spend a lot of time at my desk. When I get injured or feel pain, now I notice the pain doesn't last for long. Also they help with colds (breathing) and period pain.

What's your least favourite yoga pose/core drill and why?

The boat pose!!!! Regardless of how much I workout, the pose is still impossible to achieve for me. I keep losing my balance and can't really do it :-/

Yoga Goals / Plans for the future - in general

Getting back to more core classes throughout the week - recently I haven't practised that often. Boat pose! Handstanding is coming, although I still don't feel confident enough with the full standing. Introducing some aerobic activity - hopefully getting back to walking outdoors every week (I tried the treadmill but it's not really my cup of tea!)

Last meal on death row? / Your fav meal basically!

I recently discovered fermented food and I'm very much into fermenting anything. Making my own kefir, sauerkraut and giardiniera :-)
