Morning Soaked Oats or Porridge

This is a really great way to consume a huge diversity of plants into your first meal of the day. You can batch make this in advance and keep in a large kilner jar to just grab each morning. Either heat a cup full first thing with some of your favourite milk to make a warming porridge or soak with milk the evening before in the fridge for a delicious soaked oats pot to take on the go.

Morning Oats

Perfect to start your day the right way!

Ingredients

500g Oats

100g Chia Seeds

100g Goji Berries

100g Flax seeds

100g Hemp seeds

200g Raisins

100g Pumpkin Seeds

100g Mixed Nuts (e.g. hazelnuts, macadema, cashew, walnuts)

2 x Cinnamon Sticks

2 tsps Turmeric

40g Maca Powder

100g Pea Protein

100g Cacao nibs

Directions

Put all ingredients into a large bowl and mix together.

Store in an air-tight container. Your mix is ready.

Serve in 100g portions.

Add 150ml of your favourite milk. For me this would be soya milk.

Notes

Serving an oat mix breakfast is a great boost to the start of your day and will leave you fuller for longer. Studies have shown eating oats daily can help with weight loss, lower blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Oats are rich in fibre, antioxidents, vitamins and minerals.

Nuts add healthy fats, proteins and further nutrients.
