October Focus: Hip Strength and Stability

So now we are (more than) half way through this month how are your hips fairing? We have been focusing our yoga practice on our hips and pelvis - adding resistance to stretches to help strengthen our muscles, and improve our stability, whilst also releasing some of those tighter muscles.

We have completed our 90 minute hip-focused yoga workshop on Monday 5th October, which can be revisited in our Membership Library along with plenty more shorter yoga classes (in the Membership Catch-Up section). One yoga class that seemed to have resonated with many was the 60 minute class that targeted internal rotation of the hips (12th October). Not something we may particularly consider when we think of our hips, but the aim is to create more space in our sacrum area to aid our mobility. So if you have tight hamstrings it may well be worth checking out this yoga class.

However, if you prefer to stretch your hips in a more restful manner there is, of course, the 90 minute Yin Yoga session to (re)visit.

Before half-term intrudes we still have the rest of the week to work on our hips. So this includes:

Weekdays 30 mins online classes starting at 7am

Monday 6pm 60 mins Yoga Flow for the hips - online

Tuesday 6pm 90 mins Ashtanga - online and in-person

Wednesday 9:30am 60 mins Slow flow technique - online

Thursday 6pm 60 mins Yoga Technique for the hips - online

If you’re reading this from outside the Membership and this sounds like the kind of rhythm and accountability you need, you’re more than welcome to join us, anytime.
