Here’s to brighter mornings…and less decisions

Life is full of decisions.
Big and little. Daily. Constant. Never-ending.

Do you find the little decisions take up so much time that you don’t have the space, time, effort or will to make the big decisions? Yup that’s me!

I’m not the only one who isn’t wishing these darker, colder months to pass by sooner, rather than later.

I typically get up at 6:40am for our weekday 7am Yoga online.
Grab some clothes, get dressed and guzzle a glass of water.
For the last few months, I and many others have been doing this in the dark! (Not the yoga bit!)

But today, was different! There was a brighter sky, with sunshine peeking through the clouds. Not full-on sunshine or a blue sky but a pink sky with lots of clouds. The sky was just brighter and I can tell you it makes such a difference to be getting up and starting yoga with a lighter sky.

So if you haven’t joined us for 7am yoga yet, here’s your reminder to give it a go.

Wake up. Throw clothes on.
Log on.
Move. Breathe.
Done.

It’s actually only one decision.
Set your alarm the night before.
Set your intention to get up and join in. I’ll guide you through the rest.

Then you can feel smug that you fit in your 30 mins before the day has even started. But it’s not just that though.

Because when you stick to that first decision.
It impacts your whole day. It has a knock on effect.
You’re more likely to make another positive decision that will benefit you.

In that moment, I get it. We could snooze. You’re only missing 30 mins of yoga. Bit of movement and stretching, right!?
Hmm, not quite.

We move consciously. To build strength. To focus the mind.
To boost testosterone in the body that gives us confidence.
It gives us energy. It shifts our clarity.
We feel alive.

And that’s just after one session.
Imagine if you make that small decision to show up each morning.
Now this is where the big stuff happens. The long term effect.

This is for the overall long game.

You no longer feel weak in the body.
Your muscles don’t feel tight or achy.
You sit up taller.
You run faster.
Your body tones up.

Your nervous system settles.
Your focus improves.
Your posture shifts.
Your confidence rises.

Make that one small decision.
The one you know is good for you.
The one that just becomes part of your routine.
The one you don’t have to think about.
The one that gives daily and compounds over a lifetime.
